How to use the reading map

The project draws on a collection of eleven books alongside public research and health resources. The collection has been mapped at different depths; it is not a claim that every page has been fully reviewed. These introductory guides are original editorial explanations, not complete summaries of the books.

Practical and experiential accounts

  • Robert Bruce — Astral Dynamics: read as an author’s practice framework and account of experience.
  • Robert Bruce and Brian Mercer — Mastering Astral Projection: a structured practice-oriented source to compare with other approaches.
  • Robert Peterson — Hacking the Out of Body Experience: part of the project’s comparative reading on methods.
  • Michael Raduga — The Phase: another distinct terminology and approach; retain its context when comparing instructions.

Traditions and broader frameworks

Chögyal Namkhai Norbu’s writing on dream yoga belongs in its Buddhist context. Samuel Sagan’s Awakening the Third Eye and Thomas Campbell’s My Big TOE offer different frameworks. Including a title does not mean endorsing all its claims or treating its model as a scientific consensus.

Evidence and health information

Our public starting sources include the International Lucid Dream Induction Study, the 2002 report on illusory own-body perceptions, NHS guidance on sleep paralysis, and NCCIH information on meditation. Follow the original source for its full scope and limitations.

Attribution and access

We publish original explanations and point readers towards source material. Copyrighted source books are not distributed here. Detailed future book guides should identify the edition, relevant sections and the distinction between the author’s claims and the editor’s assessment.
